This was like my favourite Jezebel thing! You got a glimpse into people’s private issues, but it involved a dude being really crap, so you got to feel self-righteous about it!
(To be clear, I mean the above as a total, total compliment.)
Today Georgia Cool and I are re-launching the much-beloved Crap Email From A Dude feature on Jezebel. Georgia and I have spent many months poring over Crap Emails I never had time to post when I was working at Jezebel, to the point that we began thinking we’d gleaned some actual insight — into gender roles and the limitations of language and the impact of Moore’s Law on human interaction and other crap we could say to make people think we’d deluded ourselves into thinking that such things were perfectly suitable topics to spend one’s time pondering and we were totally confident in our ability to prove that we weren’t actually writing a dating book because we lacked the imagination/chops for chick lit — from the process. Anyway, so yeah, this may all become a book someday. We might even get around to making something that looks like a real Tumblr also. But in the meantime we’ll be posting outtakes, supplementary “analysis” and other such miscellany on here.
