I am absolutely loveing Battledrone Galactastar, but I have a problem with some of its implausibilities. No, not the human-looking robots or strangely elegant space fights. The thing that pulls me out of the Gardnerian narrative dream is the fact that there seems to be a twenty person press corp, assembled within days, pulled from just 50,000 human beings remaining. Statistically, that might make some sense. Maybe.
So, ok say there even are twenty reporters. Who are they reporting for??? There are no more newspapers, publishers, or websites. There’s no TV. So who are you reporting for? Why do you all have mics and notepads and, like, everything just short of a fedora with a press card tucked into the band? So weird.

I assumed they are from the different ships in the fleet? Like, they are all going back and getting on their invidividual ship’s intercom or whatever? And actually in terms of narrative logic wouldn’t there have been a bunch of press on the ship covering Galactica’s decommissioning at the time of the attack who obviously just got promoted to presidential press corps when all the other media got blown up?
