This is a thoughtspace for a little zine project run by Arabelle, also known as catladysoul, among other internet projects. It’s dedicated to the bad bitches of the world, you know the ones: sassy, self assured, on top of their shit, or so gloriously not on top of their game their individualistic chaos is a wonder to behold. Whatever it is, they get things done. They are complicated, and their priority is to themselves and their survival. They are not always good people, but that isn’t the point of this zine, really. I am interested in memorable women, not necessarily saintly women, and you don’t need to be good to be interesting. These are the women with magnetism, these are the girls whose glares can light a dude on fire. Be afraid of them, be inspired by them, just remember them always. This zine is dedicated to the women history should be scared out of forgetting.
Things you need to know:
- Submissions should be emailed to arabelle@fashionpirate.net with the subject “BAD BITCH BRIGADE”. Or, you can submit things directly to this tumblr. I prefer the email though.
- The deadline is December 1, 2012.
- Art and/or writing. Keep written submissions short though. There are a lot of rad women in history, no one lady should hog the spotlight.
- Submissions can be about fictional characters too. Religious figures, serial killers (sometimes religious figures ARE serial killers which makes them even MORE interesting and truly bad bitches!), it’s all good.
- There are bound to be multiple submissions on the same muse (cuz everyone loves Lady Bathory, let’s be real) and that is fine — not all of them will be included in the zine but that doesn’t mean not all of them will be posted on this tumblr.
